The Korean name for Hwarang is made up of two words;화랑(pronounced “Hwarang”) and품(pronounced “poom”, meaning thing or item/product), which means the product of Hwarang. At the same time, the word hwarangpoom sounds similar to the Korean word hwajangpoom #한국어, which in turn means cosmetics.
