The Korean name of Hwarang consists of two words;화랑(pronounced “Hwarang”) and품(pronounced “poom” meaning a thing or item/product), the word combination meaning a product of Hwarang. At the same time, the word hwarangpoom sounds the same as the Korean word hwajangpoom #kosmetik, which in turn means cosmetics.
Fun fact! In South Korea's Silla Dynasty, Hwarang meant the most beautiful men who took care of themselves using cosmetics and make-up.
